At NAAVA Education, we support children and young people across nurseries, primary schools, secondary schools, PRUs and SEN settings.
Why nervous system regulation changes everything for children
Why Regulation Matters for Children
When children become overwhelmed, their “thinking brain” can switch off, making it harder for them to process information, make decisions, or regulate their emotions. This often shows up as:
Emotional outbursts
Shutdown or withdrawal
Difficulty focusing
Low frustration tolerance
Challenging behaviours
Anxiety or avoidance
Children can become easily overwhelmed because their nervous systems are still developing and they are constantly taking in new information, emotions and stimulation.

“Participants arrive tense and leave visibly calmer, lighter and more at ease. Over time, many begin using the techniques independently, which speaks to how practical and empowering the approach is.”
— Stepping Stones Fostering
Fostering Organisation
“Carers described this as the most useful training they have attended in years. The session provided practical, evidence-based tools that they are now using daily; both for themselves and with the children in their care, with noticeable results.”
— Arnhem Wharf Primary School
Primary School, London
“We have seen a clear difference in children who struggle with focus or anxiety. The sessions give them a safe space to reset, and teachers consistently notice how much calmer and more settled pupils are afterwards. The impact carries through into the rest of the school day.”

— Cambridge Day Nursery
